On Friday 25th of November, our school put on its production of the musical 'Back To The 80's' in St.Brigid’s Hall Tubbercurry. Preparation for the musical began at the start of the school year and cast and crew worked tirelessly to make sure our show was a success under the production team of Ms.McConnell (Director), Ms.McDonnell (Musical Director) and Ms.Kelly (Choreographer).

The verdict was unanimous – everyone loved the show, especially those who grew up to the soundtrack of the 80s and appreciated references to the cult classics of Star Wars, The Kararte Kid and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off!

The show, greatly enhanced by a live five piece band, was performed four times over the weekend to sell-out crowds and we received rapturous applause from audiences who thoroughly enjoyed the show.

Mr. McEvoy, the Principal, thanked the cast and crew, comprised of Transition Year and Fifth Year students, and all who made the musical possible, especially the staff and students of St Attracta’s C.S. who provided much appreciated support (and even a few extended deadlines for homework!).

This hard work will culminate in a two hour concert which will be performed twice, due to popular demand, on the 25th and 26th of January in the new year. The experience has been received extremely well before and we have no doubt that their next visit will be just as enjoyable and beneficial. Further details on the group can be obtained from www.youngamericans.org.
